Cover Supervisor - Tonbridge, Kent About the Role We are seeking confident, adaptable and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across the Tonbridge area. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are looking for experience in education without the full-time commitment of a teaching post. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and engaged in pre-prepared learning activities. This is a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning and supporting the smooth running of the school day. Key Responsibilities Supervise lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students follow the set work. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Promote a positive and focused learning environment. Support students with questions or guidance on tasks when appropriate. Report back to teaching staff on lesson progress and any issues that arise. Provide general support within the school when required (e.g., exam invigilation, admin tasks, or break duties).Person Specification Strong communication and organisational skills. Confident classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively. Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different subjects and year groups. A genuine interest in supporting young people's education. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., in schools, tutoring, youth work, or sports coaching) is advantageous but not essential.
